Accelerating the journey towards
a sustainable and future-friendly planet

Our Mission

Using the Power of people, capitalism, and empathy to enable food
security and sustainable living in our urban areas.

What urbanization is doing
to our planet !

The Urban Population has been the prime mover for the entire infrastructure revolution. Over time, human intervention has faded out the natural presence from megacities which are presently the epicenter of an unprecedented expansion of buildings, communications, services, industry, commerce, and leisure infrastructures. Presently, around 55% of the world’s population lives in urban areas, and this number is expected to rise to over 68% by 2050 (United Nations 2018).

Easy and inexpensive reach to goods and utilities mask the depletion of natural resources aggravated by unconscious consumption and indifference, seeding that ‘everything is spare, disposable, and replaceable’. Consumption patterns of urban way of living give rise to major environmental issues. The majority of these issues are caused by housing, food, and transport, leading to higher energy utilization. (Bjørn et al. 2018). Such consumption patterns account for about 65% of natural resources contributing to global environmental degradation and climate change. Sustainable consumption patterns and safer food for the urban lifestyles should be a shared social responsibility.

Perks of Urbanization,

but are they ?

Food

The food we consume is not safe. In India, we still divide our food standards as export quality and domestic consumption quality – More than 2L farmers are directly impacted by heavy pesticide usage and millions of people living in the cities are indirectly impacted with plethora of lifestyle diseases.

Energy

Urbanization causes erratic consumption and production patterns which have severe environmental impacts due to intensive energy activities. Per capita energy consumption, an index to compare a country’s development, is also an indicator of sustainability. Higher the per capita energy consumption more unsustainable will be the environment.

Transport

The urban lifestyle offers facilitated mobility and an unimpeded supply of various goods and services essential for the city’s metabolism. These services substantially add to the global anthropological greenhouse gas emissions.

Housing

Natural landscapes are replaced by concrete to accommodate the intense urbanization with an ever-expanding population and services leading to severe environmental degradation.

The Path and the Change

The unsustainable and non-eco-friendly agricultural practices today are wringing out the planet and human health at an alarming rate. According to FAO, the present farming practices are responsible for 25% of global warming. Further, 95% water pollution, and 70% soil pollution is caused by the unsafe farming practices.

Many factors related to the current agriculture system contribute to the pulls and the pressures, making the whole process banal. However, they all end up getting tied to the same string, little or no financial muscle for the agriculture sector, which leads to green premium making the sustainable food expensive and hence not affordable by many.To be future friendly, one has to pay premium and it is easy to be environmentally destructive ( Courtesy : how to avoid climate disaster – Bill Gates )

Green Premium?

A premium paid to buy a green product.

Without mass consumer adoption of new life style ,
a shift towards sustainability is almost impossible

we work with consumers

to accelerate the
journey towards a better planet

Our Approach

Safe Food For All From Sustainable Farms

The present state of unsafe food originates from the belief that food production is not a city affair, as the majority of food is produced outside the city. There is not enough awareness about unsafe food among masses.

Awareness coupled with concrete steps to ensure that safe food reaches our table to be consumed by our families is of utmost importance. Citizens have to be empowered with proper knowledge, proper alternatives, and resources for healthy and sustainable consumption patterns.

IMAGINING A BETTER TOMORROW

Reimagine how we conduct agricultural economics to make sustainable practices successful

Make the safe food affordable for all

Without mass consumer adoption of the new lifestyle patterns, the shift towards sustainability is nearly impossible.

To induce affordability, we are reaching out to consumers at scale for participation and contribution to establish the largest urban farming network for a safer tomorrow.

This model of farming will vertically integrate consumers to the farms. Once this model is adopted by the masses, it will normalize the usage of produce grown by sustainable farming by many which in-turn will adjust the present financial model of agriculture to align itself along the new normal of safe and sustainable food.

We work with the consumers to accelerate the

journey towards a better planet.
